Gary Lynn Adams

Gary Lynn Adams, 66, formerly of Muncy, passed away in his Williamsport home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008.

Born July 6, 1942, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Guy Grove and Emma (Kaiser) Adams. A member of the 1961 graduating class of Montoursville High School. In 1960, Mr. Adams enlisted in the US Army and served until 1963. During his service, he was a sergeant in the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY.

In 1964, he started working at Avco, now Textron, and retired after 42 years of employment. Mr. Adams was a member of the American Legion in Muncy, the Muncy VFW, the 40 et 8 in Williamsport, Highland Lake, and the Muncy Valley Moose Lodge No. 866.

He loved playing music and was most well known for his accomplished self taught guitar skills. He had been in bands since 1969 and enjoyed playing for crowds throughout his life. He also loved spending time with his family, attending different sporting events in the community, and playing with his two dogs, Heidi and Pepper.

Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Linda (Heffner) Adams, his daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Larry Funk of Hughesville, his son, Gary Alan Adams of Elgin, TX, his five grandchildren, Tessa Adams and Melinda Funk of Hughesville, Sean, Sage, and Ian Adams of Elgin, TX, and his brother John Adams, of Woodstock, GA.

Respecting his wishes to not have a funeral or viewing service, the family would appreciate very much if friends and family would send their most fond memories with Gary to Linda Adams, 120 Upper Manor Road, Williamsport, PA 17701. Arrangements are by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
