Norma Marie Peterman

Norma Marie Peterman, 80, of Nordmont, died Sunday, Nov/ 2, 2008, at the Highlands Care Center.

Born Feb. 29, 1928, in Limestone Township, Montour County, she was a daughter of the late Calvin L. and Maude H. Golder Tanner.

Her husband of 56 years, Leonard L. Peterman, preceded her in death on July 30, 2008.

Mrs. Peterman was a member of the Rock Run Church, Muncy Valley. She was quite gifted at music and enjoyed playing several different musical instruments. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music, gardening and sewing.

She was a great seamstress and made most of her own clothing.

Surviving are three sons, David L. (Connie) Peterman, Roger W. (Debbie) Peterman and Scott L. Peterman, all of Nordmont; two daughters, Gail M. (Jim) McCarty of Colley and Susan F. Peterman of Dushore; a brother, Kenneth Tanner of Danville; a sister, Jean (Donald) Fry of Turbotville; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; and one step-great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Harry and William Tanner; and two sisters, Thelma Williams and Maxine Maust.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Rock Run Church, Route 220, Muncy Valley, with the Rev. James W. Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

The family welcomes flowers; however, memorial contributions may also be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
