Melvin C. Dangle

Melvin C. Dangle, 92, of Montoursville, passed away Nov. 6, 2008 at the Valley View Nursing Center.

Born Feb. 25, 1916 in Warrensville, he was the son of Harry Franklin and Lilian Swartz Dangle.

A World War II veteran, he served in the Navy.

Mr. Dangle was a processor for the former Valley Farms Dairy, a member of the Warrensville Baptist Church, and was a lifetime member of the Blessing Mountain Hunting Club. He loved to hunt and fish.

Surviving is his wife, Dorothy L.; three sons, Ronald and David both of Cogan Station and William of Pine Creek; four step-children, Patricia (Charles) Houseknecht of Troy, Sherry (Richard) Whalen of Linden, Virginia (Harold) Fraley of Muncy, and Steven (Gwen) Fink of Montoursville; twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Nov. 10, at Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville, with the Rev. William J. Younger officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
