Bernice G. Pardoe

Bernice G. Pardoe, 88, formerly of Hughesville, died Nov. 24, 2008, at the Hillside Assisted Living.

Born Sept. 26, 1920, in Madisonburg, Centre County, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Mary Susan Vonada Duck. Her husband of 58 years, Hollis L. Pardoe, preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1995. She attended the Milton High School. She was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, cooking, dining out and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are three sons, Lawrence (Judy) Pardoe of Milton, Ronald (Bonnie) Pardoe of Allenwood and Gary (Sharon) Pardoe of Milton; two daughters, Debbie Kuzio of Williamsport and Patty (Shane) McCoy of Hughesville; a sister, Pauline Wilson of Milton; 13 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Lynn Pardoe; a great granddaughter, Fallon Pardoe; and two sisters, Violet Bastian and Moral Duck.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 28, from 7-9 p.m. at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville. A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Bethany United Methodist Church, 113 S. Second St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Bethany P. Wood officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Muncy Cemetery.
