Margaret E. Meeker

Margaret E. Meeker, age 91, Bloomsburg, died Nov. 20, 2008 in the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Muncy Valley Hospital, where she had been a patient since Sept. 23.

Born in Mifflin Twp., she was a daughter of the late Virgin and Ella (McAfee) Hunsinger. She resided in the Bloomsburg area most of her life.

She was a 1935 graduate of the former Mifflin Twp. High School.Mrs. Meeker was a waitress and also at one time was employed as a cook at the Bloomsburg Memorial Elementary School. She belonged to the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Meeker, on Aug. 4, 1986. Surviving are a daughter, Penny I., wife of Frank S. Kutz, Muncy; son, Thomas L. Meeker and his fiance Christine Haney, Bloomsburg; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Mildred Balitza, Berwick; and brother, Walter Hunsinger, Coral Gables, Fla.

Funeral services were held Nov. 24 at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home, Bloomsburg; with her pastor, the Rev. Jay E. Jones, officiating. Internment was in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
