Raymond Garlick
Raymond Garlick, 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, of Montoursville, died at home, after a lengthy illness on Nov. 22, 2008.
He was the husband of Elfrieda Busch Garlick and the father of five, Edwin, Edgewater, FL; Kenneth, Gilbertsville, PA; Sonia Smith, Hughesville; Victoria Reed, Montoursville; and Grace O’Brien, Peach Bottom, PA.
Prior to his illness, Garlick was a life member of the Pennsdale Fire Company, where he held the office of Treasurer of The Pennsdale FC Firemen’s Relief Association, Captain of the Pennsdale Fire Police.
He served as Emergency Management Coordinator for Upper Fairfield and Mill Creek Townships, and was also a member of the Lycoming County Fire Police Association.
Garlick was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. It was because of this love, he came to Lycoming County in 1969. Prior to this move, he spent his entire life living in the Philadelphia area.
A memorial service was held at Pennsdale United Methodist Church on Nov. 25. The family requests that donations be made to his wife, the Pennsdale Fire Police for the purchase of safety equipment, or the American Cancer Society.
