Herman L. Eiswerth
Herman L. Eiswerth, 79, of Muncy, died Nov. 27, 2008.
Born Oct. 25, 1929, in Nippenose Valley, he was a son of the late George L. and Elizabeth (Caldwell) Eiswerth.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served as a Sergeant in the 335th Replacement Battalion during the Korean War.
He was employed at Sylvania in Montoursville for 23 years until opening Herman Eiswerth Garden Center, which he operated until his retirement.
Mr. Eiswerth was a member of the Glenn Sharrow Post 35 American Legion, Hughesville, the Pa. Nurseryman’s Association, the Muncy Valley Moose Lodge 866 and the former Antler’s Country Club.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Irene (Eck) Eiswerth of Muncy; one daughter, Janice C. (Charles) Brain of Gordon; three sons, Gregory H. (Melanie) Eiswerth of Muncy, Mark L. Eiswerth of Houston, TX, and Jay H. Eiswerth of Muncy; four grandchildren, Ethan D. (Vanessa) Eiswerth of Macungie, Trevor N. Eiswerth of Middletown, Jennifer (Zebulon) Geedey of Mechanicsburg, and Drew C. Eiswerth of Hughesville; four step-grandchildren, Tara Russell of Hughesville and Jeremy Walburn, Tyre Weikel and Seth Weikel, all of Texas; and one sister, Mary Jane (Robert) Gawryla of State College.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, Muncy.
