Judith Ann Allshouse
Judith Ann Allshouse, 66, of 96 Second Ave., Muncy, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at home.
Born July 8, 1942, in Brookville, she was a daughter of the late Melvin C. and Charlotte G. (Horton) Newcome.
She and her husband of 42 years, Gary W. Allshouse, were married in Brookville on Sept. 17, 1966.
A 1960 graduate of Brookville High School, she also graduated from Clarion State Teachers College and later earned her Masters in Education from I.U.P.
Judy was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Muncy, where she co-managed and taught nursery school for 18 years, as well as serving as a financial secretary. In addition, she taught Bible study for 15 years. She was extremely dedicated to the church and volunteered countless hours, including coordinating the Good ‘n Plenty Supper dining staff.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter and son-in-law, Lynnanne M. and Bryan Bocchi of Mechanicsburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark W. and Sallie Allshouse of Shermans Dale; two grandsons, Cameron and Andrew Bocchi; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Connie Newcome of Bradford and Thomas and Dolores Newcome of Hanover; and two sisters, Margaret Silvis of Mechanicsburg and Nancy Knapp of North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, at her church, the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Michael R. Gardy. Burial will be held privately in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery, Ramseytown.
Friends will be received from on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Walter F. Smith Foundation, First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, PA 17756.
