Evelyn K. Tressler

Evelyn K. Tressler, 87, a 12-year resident of 316 N. Montour St., Montoursville, died Sunday, Dec/ 28. She was formerly of RD Muncy and Bloomsburg.

Evelyn was born July 11, 1921, in Bloomsburg, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ruth (Mowery) Krum. She was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Evelyn was a devoted housewife and homemaker. She was the owner and operator of Evelyn’s Yarn Shop on East Street in Bloomsburg for 20 years. Evelyn was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Montoursville, and a former member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Bloomsburg. She was an active supporter of Scouting during her entire life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned L. Tressler on October 2, 1996, and a sister, Martha Schultz.

Survivors include three sons: Gary L. Tressler, Rosendale, NY; Dr. Terry B. Tressler, and his wife, Mary Ellen, Harrisburg; Steven N. Tressler, and his wife, Dr. Sandra Beall, Montoursville; four grandchildren: Erin, Benjamin, Chad, and Andrew Tressler; and a sister, Kathryn Albertson, Fredrica, DE.

Funeral services will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 2 at 11 a.m. from Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market and Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg, with Rev. Ronald Warfle officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 a.m until the time of service. Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to Boy Scouts of America, 5 Audubon Court, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
