Clarence M. (Moe) VanWhy

Clarence M. (Moe) VanWhy, 61, a resident of 41 Chevy Lane, Montgomery, PA, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2009 in the Gatehouse at Williamsport, Pa following a brief illness. Born in Montgomery, Lycoming County, PA, on Friday, May 9, 1947, he was the son of the late Moses VanWhy and Kathryn (Phillips) VanWhy who survives him of Montgomery, PA.

Moe was a 1966 graduate of Montgomery High School. He was formerly employed by Koppers and the former Montgomery Mills.

He enjoyed watching football and Montgomery Girls basketball.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Mahala “Halley” VanWhy, Montgomery, PA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Nettie VanWhy, Montgomery, PA; Robert M. and Patty VanWhy, Montgomery, PA and two special friends, Buddy Feigles, Montgomery, PA; Stanley Rogers, Williamsport, PA. Moe is also survived by 7 nephews, 3 nieces, 2 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew. In addition to his father, Moe was preceded in death by one sister, Lori VanWhy.

A memorial service will be conducted from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 with Rebecca Cuddeback, C.L.S., officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Lairdsville. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
