Ronald M. Webster
On the morning of Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, Ronald M. Webster, 91, of Muncy and formerly of Canton, passed away quietly at The Gateway Hospice in Williamsport.
Born Jan. 4, 1918, in Canton, he was the son of Howard and Almina (Spaulding) Webster.
On March 18, 1938, he married Marion A. Harris. Together they raised two daughters and shared 70 years until her passing on Oct. 20, 2008.
The Websters owned and operated a farm in the Canton area until 1948 when they relocated to the Muncy area.
Mr. Webster was employed at Modecraft until 1975. After that, he was employed by the Muncy School District, retiring in 1982. He was an active member of the I.O.O.F. for 70 years, most recently affiliated with Brady Lodge 116 in Hughesville. He had achieved the honor of being Past District Deputy Grand Master.
Mr. Webster was an avid bowler and a lover of sports in general. He loved spending time with his family and traveling when he was able.
He is survived by daughters Mary K. (Charles) Yarison of Pelzer, SC and Marjorie J. (Arthur) Danley of Muncy, with whom he resided. Also surviving are his brother Howard E. Webster of Tonawanda, NY, grandchildren Melvin R. Sherwood, Riverview, FL, Kathleen M. McGlocklin of Gray Court, SC, Michelle Caputo of Williamsport, Charles Danley of Peyton, CO, Stephanie Denis of Hamburg, PA, and great-grandchildren, Matthew Sherwood, Bryan McGlocklin, Joshua, Alicia and Kymberlee Caputo, Jennifer Denis and James Denis. Preceded in death by his wife, Marion, sister Florence English and Marleah Foust, grandson Ronald E. Sherwood and great-grandson Ryan Sherwood.
Funeral services were held Jan. 12, at Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, 40 N. Center St., Canton. with Pastor Jasper Smith officiating. Interment was in Windfall Cemetery.
