Ellen Rachel Onufrak
Ellen Rachel Onufrak, 84, passed away peacefully on Jan. 10 at the Muncy Skilled Nursing Unit. She was born on September 6, 1924 in Blue Island, Illinois.
She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years Andrew Onufrak Sr., who died March 19, 1998.
Her parents were Russell and Frances DeGroot Gill of Harvey, Illinois.
She graduated from Thornton Township High School, Harvey, Illinois in 1943 and then she attended Chicago College of Commerce.
She was employed locally as a secretary for 17 years in the Loyalsock Township School District Business Office.
She was a member of Northway Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and church secretary for several years.
She will be sadly missed by a son, Andrew Onufrak II, daughter-in-law Lori, two grandson’s Ryan and wife Ronna and Andrew III as well as a great grandson Evan.
Family and friends are invited to Ellen’s “Life Celebration” on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the James C. Maneval “Life Celebration” Home, 500 W. Fourth St. in Williamsport. There will be a memorial service at Northway Presbyterian Church, 1520 Northway Road Williamsport, PA 17701 on Wednesday, January 14 at 11 a.m. with her pastor Ken Woods-Henderson and Rev. Emeritus Stanley P. Hartung conducting the service.
Her interment will be with her husband at Indian Town Gap National Cemetery on Thursday.
The family will provide the flowers. Memorial gifts can be made to Northway Presbyterian Church in the name of Ellen Onufrak.
