Mrs. Kathleen R. Swinehart
Mrs. Kathleen R. Swinehart, 67, of 302 S. Market St., Muncy, PA, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at her home.
Mrs. Swinehart was retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. For 19 years, she had been a supervisor in the food service department at the State Correctional Institution for Women at Muncy.
Kathy enjoyed traveling on cruise lines, performing arts and crafts, and reading, but most of all, she enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
Born January 30, 1941 at Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Edward M. and Dorothy T. Gilson, of South Williamsport. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 33 years, Charles L. Swinehart, her late sisters, Mary Ann Hargenrader and Rita C. Goble, and her late brother Timothy L. Gilson.
Kathy is survived by her eight daughters; Debora M. and her husband, John Markley of Williamsport, Susan M. and her husband James Gilson of Lebanon, Diane M. Adkins of Hughesville, Lynne K. and her husband, David Willis of Norfolk, VA, Sharon A. Geirtz of Columbia, Bettina C. Rager of Muncy, Marsha S. and her husband, Scott Rutland of Lancaster, and Jennifer L. Swinehart of Hunlock Creek; her three sons; John E. Swinehart of Muncy, Charles L. Swinehart, Jr. of Williamsport, and Kevin P. and his wife, Jessica Swinehart of Montgomery; her three sisters; Patricia M. Walker of Elgin, IL, Margaret R. and her husband, Brian Langer of Joliet, IL, and Ruby M. and her husband, Paul Zimmerman of Norfolk, VA; her five brothers; Edward M. and his wife, Mary Gilson of Williamsport, James W. and his wife, Susan M. Gilson of Lebanon, Dennis M. and his wife, Doreen Gilson of Monroe Valley, CA, Thomas P. and his wife, Nancy Gilson of Danville, IL, and John C. and his wife, Jeanne Gilson of Algonquin, IL; 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers. The family respectfully declines to receive floral tributes.
Graveside services with inurnment will be held at the Green Lawn Memorial Park, Committal Chapel, Montgomery, on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 2 p.m. The Very Rev. Father Glenn E. McCreary, pastor of the Roman Catholic Church of the Resurrection at Muncy, will officiate.
