Helena D. Crawley
Mrs. Helena D. Crawley, 91, passed away at her home on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009.
Born April 11, 1917, at Shamokin, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marcella Katalenas.
Helena was the widow of the late Harold G. “Chris” Crawley, who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1996.
Mrs. Crawley had been a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church at Williamsport.
Mrs. Crawley was retired. She had been employed as a sewing machine operator at some of the former local sewing factories in the Williamsport area.
Helena enjoyed reading and performing crewelwork and crocheting.
Mrs. Crawley is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Wallace, of Williamsport, by her son, Anthony Ignatius Antonio Jr., of Christiansburg, VA, by her grandson, Thomas C. Wagner, of Montoursville and by other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers and respectfully declines to recieve floral tributes.
The family suggests that contributions in memory of Helena D. Crawley may be made, if so desired, to either the James V. Brown Library of Williamsport and Lycoming County, 19 E. Fourth St., Williamsport, PA 17701, or to Susquehanna Regional Home Health Care and Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
Graveside memorial services with committal will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville, Pa. The details of those services will be announced at a later date and published in a future edition of the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.
