John Andrew Gast
John Andrew Gast, Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia, formerly of Watsontown, died suddenly in the loving arms of his wife Ramti in Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia. Born April 3, 1947, at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, he was on assignment for Lucent Technologies in Asia. According to his wishes, he’ll be buried in Jakarta, Indonesia.
‘Andy’ was a 1966 graduate of Warrior Run High School. He attended Thaddaus Stevens Trade School and Williamsport Area Technical School. He worked for Bechtel Industries, the Sultan and Brunei and Lucent Technologies. He was a member of the Masons.
He was formerly married to Sally (Fairchild), Cleburne, with whom he had three children: Andrea (Bryan) Kelly; Jocelyn (Thomas) Casey, both Houstom; and Aaron (Lacey) Gast, Lubbock. All Texas. They had three grandchildren.
John is survived by his mother, Bertha Gast, Donald Karnes, both of Williamsport; Colleen Lucinda Faar, Clara; Mark (Marsha) Gast, Lancaster (all Pennsylvania) and Darlene Carpenter, Angola, Indiana. He was predeceased by his father John Gast of Montoursville.
The family has suggested his memory be honored with gifts in his name to the Warrior Run Volunteer Fire Company, 1125 Main St., Watsontown, 17771.
