Virginia P. Wentzler

Virginia P. Wentzler, 83, of Pennsdale, died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the Muncy Valley Hospital.

Born September 4, 1925, in Cogan House Township, Lycoming County, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Florence Connelly Persun. She and her husband, T. Clifford Wentzler, celebrated 65 years of marriage on October 2, 2008.

Virginia was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Pennsdale. She was also a member of the West Branch Grange and a Charter Member of the Muncy Township Fire Company Auxiliary. Virginia was a 4H Quarter Century Leader and loved cooking, baking pies and gardening.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Paul O. (Patty) Wentzler of Pennsdale and Thomas C. Wentzler of Minnesota; a daughter, Ruth W. Lundy of Montgomery; a sister, Doris J. Wheeland of Troy; and six grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Rob Ransom officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
