Hoyt Allen Kelley Jr., 64, of 2672 Haas Lane, Montoursville, formerly of Muncy Valley, died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Manor Care, Jersey Shore, following an extended illness.

Al and his wife, the former P. Diane Condon, observed their 42nd anniversary, Aug. 19, 2008.

Al retired in 2005, after 32 years with the U.S. Postal Service. Prior to that, he was a union bricklayer for 10 years and after retirement, he was the mailman for Lycoming College. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving on the USS Forrestal, and attended Wings of Love Community Church. He enjoyed coaching baseball, softball, wrestling and football for his children, grandchildren and many others and was an avid hunter.

Born Aug. 31, 1944 in Williamsport, he was the son of Hoyt A. and Elizabeth Crowl Kelley Sr.

Surviving besides his wife and mother of Whitefish, Mont., are a daughter, Trudi L. Kelley of Williamsport; twin sons, Todd A. (Sue) of Williamsport and Timothy J. (Lori) of Cogan Station; a brother, Dennis S. (Deborah) of Jersey Shore and a sister, Linda K. (Stuart) Sykora of Whitefish, Mont.; he always wanted a baseball team of his own and he now has nine grandchildren, Natasha, Cortney, Benjamin, Jordan, Jason, Kendall, Sydney, Sarah and Peyton.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with Pastor John Butler officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap Military Reservation. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wed.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests donations to the Hepburn-Lycoming Little League, P.O. Box 73, Cogan Station.
