Nathan E. Fisher, Sr.
Nathan E. Fisher, Sr., 78, a resident of 80 Ladd Road, Allenwood, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at his residence. Born in Muncy Creek Twp., Lycoming County, PA, on Wednesday, December 24, 1930, he was the son of the late Carl E. and Helen (Buck) Fisher.
He was the widower of Edith J. (Weary) Fisher who preceded him in death on November 30, 1998. Nate was a 1949 graduate of Montgomery High School. He served during the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Air Force. Nate was employed by Alltel at Muncy, PA retiring in 1993.
Nate was a member of Bower-Decker American Legion Post # 251 at Montgomery, the White Deer Valley Sportsmen at Elimsport and the National Rifle Association Legion of Honor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Nate is survived by one son, Nathan E. Fisher, Jr., Allenwood, PA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy F. and David Marks, Tucson, AZ; Amy F. and Duane Rathburn, Milton, PA;four grandchildren, Nathan E. Fisher, III; Logan Fisher; Niki L. Quiles; Laura L. Marks; one sister, Emma Jean Winters, South Williamsport, PA. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Nathan was preceded in death by his brother, Paul G. (Woody) Fisher.
Services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Scleroderma Support Group, C/O Jayne Young, 33 Hoover Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
