Robert W Doebler

(May 3, 1932 – February 18, 2009)

Robert W. “Bob” Doebler, 76, of Plum Alley, Watsontown, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at his home following a brief battle with cancer.

Born May 3, 1932 in Mifflinburg, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Ivy (Ross) Doebler. He and his wife, the former Ann E. Isenberg would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this May 2nd.

A 1950 graduate of Mifflinburg High School, he served with the US Navy during the Korean War.

Bob retired as a supervisor from Pennsylvania House Furniture, Lewisburg where he had worked 41 years.

He was an avid reader, especially enjoying Dean Koontz novels and loved working around his home. But the most precious times to him were times spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and cherished family times together.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law: Matthew W. and Kim Doeber of Lewisburg; Dana K. and Sue Wilt of Lamar; two daughters and sons-in-law: Andrea L. and Greg Brouse, Turbotville and Joni and Mike Kling, Lexington, KY; eight grandchildren: Adam and Ellen Kling, Lance and Kelly Wilt, Ashley and Todd Brouse, and Morgan and Lesleigh Doebler; one great-granddaughter, Layla Wilt; a brother, Merle “Tubb” Doebler of Sunbury and a sister, Dolly Miller, Mifflinburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Doebler and a sister, Molly Ramsey.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no public services and burial will be held privately in Watsontown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to the Montgomery House Warrior Run Area Public Library, 22 Church Street, McEwensville, PA 17749.
