Hazel B. Poust

Hazel B. Poust, 99, of Bellefonte, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the Centre Crest Nursing Facility.

Born January 3, 1910, in Columbia County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Laura A. Kressler Johnson. Her husband of 48 years, Rolland D. Poust, preceded her in death on January 13, 1978.

Hazel was a member of the Friends Church, Hughesville and was active in the children’s department of the Sunday school.

Surviving are two daughters, Doris J. Partridge of Milesburg and H. Patricia (J. Loyd) Pugh of Fancy Gap, VA; three grandchildren, J. Rolland Pugh of Winston Salem, NC, Rhea Kafer of York and Laurie Moon of Cary NC; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Barbara Mosch officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
