June Margaret Laudig, 80, of Montoursville, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2009 at Sycamore Manor.
Born Dec. 12, 1928 in New Albany, PA, she was the daughter of Clair and Elizabeth (Spence) McCarty.
She and her husband, Paul W. Laudig, observed 57years of marriage.
The eldest of eight children who grew up in Forksville, she graduated from Estella High School and the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1950. A devoted and compassionate Registered Nurse, she retired from the Williamsport Hospital after 35 years of service.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the American Legion Post 104 Ladies Auxiliary, the Gen. John Burrows Historical Society, and the Montoursville Garden Club. She was chairman of the Garden Club’s Daffodil Days for many years. She loved gardening, baking, and was an avid reader.
In addition to her husband, she will be sadly missed by three daughters, Valarie A. (Earl) Mowrey, Kay L. (Philip) Myers, both of Montoursville, and Suzanne L. (Edward) Henninger of Loyalsock Twp.; and grandchildren, Nathan (Jamie) Mowrey, Carissa (Andrew) Burgett, Alex and Spencer Myers, and Keely and Lexy Henninger; three adoring sisters, Jean Hoffman, Bloomsburg, Kathryn Swingle, Bonita Springs, FL, Barbara (Ken) Marshall, Barbours, and a brother, Robert (Marcelle) McCarty, Mehoopany.
She was predeceased by her brothers, James, Bruce, and Dale McCarty, and two brother-in-laws, Zane Hoffman and Edward Swingle.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, at 3:30 p.m. in the Bethany Lutheran Church, 369 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. Dr. J. Jeffrey Zetto officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville on Friday from 6:30-8 p.m.
