Hazel Poust

Hazel Poust, 99, of Bellefonte, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at the Centre Crest Nursing Facility.

Born Jan. 3, 1910, in Columbia County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Laura A. Kressler Johnson.

Her husband of 48 years, Rolland D. Poust, preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1978.

Mrs. Poust was a member of the Friends Church, Hughesville and was active in the children’s department of the Sunday school.

Surviving are two daughters, Doris J. Partridge of Milesburg and H. Patricia (J. Loyd) Pugh of Fancy Gap, VA; three grandchildren, J. Rolland Pugh of Winston Salem, NC, Rhea Kafer of York and Laurie Moon of Cary NC; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services were held Feb. 27 at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville, with the Rev. Barbara Mosch officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. F
