Siegfried A. Beyer

Siegfried A. Beyer, 83, recently of Hughesville, died at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, on March 17, 2009.

Born in Germany on Dec. 14, 1925, he immigrated to the United States in 1959, and worked as a mechanic for Mercedes Benz North America, until his retirement in 1988.

His wife, the former Elisabeth Sieg, predeceased him on May 3, 1993.

He resided in Englewood, NJ, and moved to be closer to his family in this area in 2005.

He is survived by two sons, Peter Beyer of Forksville and Siegfried O. Beyer of Muncy, two daughters, Elke I. Beyer of Hughesville and Irmgard Rodriquez of Puerto Rico, and four grandchildren, Jakob and Elisabeth Beyer, and Christina and Brandon Stanley, and one great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Lairdsville. His pastor, the Rev. Carla Volland, will officiate. The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
