T. Clifford Wentzler

T. Clifford Wentzler, 88, of Pennsdale, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, Muncy.

His wife of 65 years, the former Virginia P. (Persun) Wentzler, predeceased him on Feb. 1, 2009. They were married on Oct. 2, 1943.

Born Sept. 7, 1920, in Muncy Twp., he was the son of the late Thomas C. and Minnie (Hessler) Wentzler.

Mr. Wentzler was a very proud alumnus of Muncy High School, class of 1939. He was a dairy farmer, and sold milk to Dairylea for over 50 years. He was a lifelong member of the West Branch Grange, and was a 4-H leader. He served on the Muncy school board, and was a forest fire warden for over 50 years, a charter member of the Muncy Township Volunteer Fire Company, and was honored for a perfect voting record for over 60 years.

Mr. Wentzler is survived by two sons, Paul O. (Patty) Wentzler of Pennsdale, and Thomas C. Wentzler of Minnesota; a daughter, Ruth W. Lundy of Montgomery; and six grandchildren.

He is predeceased by one brother, Carl Wentzler and a sister, Bertha Wentzler Tule.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Rob Ransom officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions to the Muncy Township Volunteer Fire Company, 261 Village Road, Pennsdale, PA 17756.
