Edward L. Palmatier
Edward L. Palmatier, 60, a resident of 1195 Village Road, Pennsdale, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009, in the Hershey Medical Center, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Friday, Sept. 17, 1948, he was the son of the late Leo Palmatier and Bessie (Chamberlain) Palmatier of Montoursville.
Ed was the husband of Linda L. (Stover) Palmatier, with whom he celebrated a 38th wedding anniversary, Jan. 3.
Ed was a 1966 graduate of Montoursville High School. He was employed as a machinist by Andritz, Inc., Muncy. Ed was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Pennsdale. He was a life member and former 10-year chief of the Muncy Township Volunteer Fire Co. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was in the process of building a kayak. Ed especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports. He was an avid Phillies fan.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Corey E. and Dawn Palmatier, Pennsdale; one daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Chad Yerg, Hughesville; four grandchildren, Nicholas Palmatier, Nathan Palmatier, Kilee Yerg, Katie Yerg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Brenda Palmatier, Montoursville, Rodger and Louise Palmatier, Miami, Fla.; and one sister-in-law, Judy Palmatier, Montoursville. In addition to his father, Ed was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Palmatier.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 27, 2009, from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy, with Rob Ransom, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Twin Hills Memorial Park.
