Lorraine Sontheimer

Lorraine J. Sontheimer, 66, of Muncy, died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at the Williamsport Hospital.

Born May 5, 1943, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Ann Mrockowski. She and her husband, Edward Sontheimer, would have celebrated 44 years of marriage on September 10, 2009.

Lorraine was employed at several area establishments as a custodian and retired from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2006 after having worked there for four years.

An avid cleaner, Lorraine also enjoyed deep sea fishing, crabbing and her two Great Dane puppies. However, Lorraine’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lorraine was also a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Mark E. (Billiejo) Sontheimer of Cogan Station and Neil D. (Tennille) Sontheimer of Muncy; two daughters, Lori A. (Vito) Levecchia of Canada and Nina A. (Robert) Dunkleberger of Selinsgrove; three sisters; and five grandchildren, Kaycee and Bryce Sontheimer and Sage, Sienna and Scarlet Dunkleberger.

A memorial service was held last Wednesday, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Henry E. Gable officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery Hughesville.
