John “Frank” Knouse Sr., 71, of Warriors Mark and formerly of Hughesville, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at his home.

Born Aug. 10, 1938, in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Jacob and Irene (Klinger) Knouse. He and his wife, the former Donna Lee Dendler, celebrated 46 years of marriage on Aug. 17, 2009.

Frank was retired from GTE Sylvania, the former Montoursville Plant. He had served in the U.S. Army. In his younger days, Frank had played baseball with the Tri-County League and he had coached baseball in the East Lycoming Little League. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Jody (Kevin) Poland of Tampa, Fla.; a son, John (Jeanne) Knouse of State College; and three grandchildren, Jacob Knouse, Joie Knouse and James Poland.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, at McCarty-Thomas F.H., 557 E. Water St., Hughesville with Pastor Michael Hill, pastor of the Elimsport U.M. Parish, officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
