Steven R. Bieber Sr.
VETERAN
Steven R. Bieber Sr., 89, of State Route 405, Muncy, and formerly of Elimsport passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 in the ER of the Muncy Valley Hospital.
Born April 28, 1920 in Montgomery, he was the son of the late Russell and Margaret S. (Criswell) Bieber.
On Oct. 3, 1942 he married the former Alberta R. Leech and they have celebrated 67 years of marriage.
He was employed by Mode Craft, Muncy and retired in 1985 from Ceco Corp. of New Columbia. He attended Montgomery schools, and was at C.C.C. camps, Loganton, before entering the Army during World War II.
He was a member of the Hope of Glory Bible Church, Muncy, and enjoyed hunting and fishing earlier in his life.
Surviving besides his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, Steven R. Jr. and Nancy Bieber of South Williamsport; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol L. and Stanley Swartz, Muncy; two grandsons; three granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth N. Bieber, Watsontown.
He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter Courtney Jarrett in July 2009; three sisters, Millie Berry, Anna and Florence Bieber; and one brother, Ed Bieber.
The funeral was held on Dec. 4 at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville with the Pastor Clyde L. Worley, his pastor, officiating. Burial with military honors followed in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
