Theodore C. “Ted” Reynolds, Sr.
Theodore C. “Ted” Reynolds, Sr., 78, of 890 Allen Drive, Muncy, died Monday, December 21, 2009, at home.
Born in Washingtonville on Nov. 5, 1931, he was a son of the late Theodore J. and Laura (Zettle) Reynolds.
He and his wife of 54 years, the former Ruth L. Sellers, were married July 25, 1952.
Ted was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Williamsport Army Reserve for 24 years. For more than 20 years he performed contract union labor, first with Local No. 708 and later doing highway road construction with Laborers’ Local Union No. 158. After retiring in 1993 he assisted his son, Miles, with his lawn care business.
He was a life member of the Roland Ritter Post #268 American Legion, Muncy, and a member of the N.R.A. Ted enjoyed attending tractor pulling events.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Theodore C. (Elyce) Reynolds of Muncy, Miles J. Reynolds of Hughesville, and Joseph W. (Marsha) Reynolds of Muncy; one daughter, Karen Reynolds of Troy, Virginia; one sister, Elizabeth Cranmer of Hughesville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Reynolds who died in 1982; one brother and two sisters.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating was Rev. James R. Pentz, pastor of New Covenant Assembly of God, Montgomery. Burial with full military honors was in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
Friends were received from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
