Gordon G. Gamble
Gordon G. Gamble, 81, formerly of Linden and most recently of Muncy, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 in the Manor Care North Health Center in Williamsport. Born April 24, 1928 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Samuel Gamble and the former Elizabeth Hauser. Gordon is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Donna L. Kreger, they were united in marriageAug. 3, 1948.
Gordon was a graduate of the Jersey Shore High School. He retired in 1988 after 38 years as Director of Manufacturing from Textron Lycoming, the former Avco Lycoming. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking and helping his children add on rooms, building decks, new bathrooms and wallpapering as well as any other projects. Also suriviving is a son Gordon W. (Jeanne) Gamble of Rome, Pa. Three daughters, Brenda L. Corson of Jersey Shore; Donna J. Kefalas of South Williamsport and Sharon D. Gamble of Jersey Shore. Seven grandchildren, Denise Poust Kendall, Tommy and Jordan Kefalas, Michelle Weigle Janson, Stefanie Kriner and Jeanette and Sam Gamble. Six great grandchildren, Tierra and Connor Miller, Tyler Kendall and Spencer and Jake Janson and Caleb Lennon. Three sisters, Lois (James) Rider of Ithica, N.Y., Loretta Keeler of Lakeworth, Fla., and Pauline Asbridge of Scott City, Mo. Also a sister-in-law June (Mel) Breining of Stella, N.C.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of services in the funeral home. Rev. David McCoy will officiate. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park.
