Daniel M. Weary

Daniel M. Weary, Jr., 88, a resident of 1 Persun Street, Montgomery, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010 in the Williamsport Home where he was a resident since December. Born in Milton, Northumberland County, PA, on Monday, April 11, 1921, he was the son of the late Daniel M. and Edna (Gray) Weary, Sr.

Danny was the husband of Gladys H. (O’Dell) Weary with whom he celebrated a 61st wedding anniversary on January 14, 2010.

He was a 1939 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School and attended the former Williamsport Technical Institute. Danny honorably served during the Second World War with the U.S. Army. He was employed as a sewing machine mechanic by Weldon Manufacturing and Wundys (Sybil Mills) at Williamsport, and later retired from Quaker Manufacturing at Lewisburg.

Danny was a former member of the Montgomery Lions. He was an avid woodworker and sewer-tailor and enjoyed fishing, boating and gardening.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Gary A. Weary and his wife Becky of Gilbertsville; a daughter, Linda D. Schrader and her husband Bruce of Manassas, VA and a daughter Christine E. McNeill and her husband Russ of South Williamsport; two brothers, Ray Weary of Denver, CO; Dick Weary of College Park, MD; three sisters, Dana Harding of Elimsport; Edna Drum of Montgomery; Twila Magruder of Kill Devil Hill, NC; four grandchildren, Kristen and Brett Schrader and Brady and Austin McNeill. Danny was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Weary and two sisters, Ede Fisher and Iris Nelson.
