Dorothy M. Bartlow
Dorothy M. Bartlow, 90, of 18 S. Washington Street, died Monday, June 7, 2010, at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.
Born October 6, 1919 in Odin, she was a daughter of the late Alvia S. and Myrtle B. (Tauscher) House. She and her husband of 41 years, Randolph F. Bartlow were married on October 2, 1954. He preceded her in death July 11, 1996.
Dorothy was a 1937 graduate of Coudersport High School and a 1941 graduate of Williamsport Commercial College. She was employed as a secretary for Sears Roebuck & Company, Avco Lycoming, and the former Keystone Thrift Corporation. Dorothy retired from Bartlow’s Jewelry Store, Muncy, which she and her husband Randy operated for 43 years.
Dorothy was a member of First United Methodist Church, Muncy, where she served as past secretary.
Among survivors are numerous nieces and nephews including a niece, Virginia Ott and her husband Howard of Muncy; and a nephew, Robert Monroe and his wife Cindy of Coudersport.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Donald House and three sisters, Charlotte House, Margaret Monroe and Ethel Ludwig.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 11, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, Muncy. Officiating was her pastor, Rev. Michael R. Gardy. Burial will be in Lairdsville Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, PA 17756.
