Dr. Rudolph A. Bennardi
Dr. Rudolph A. Bennardi, 85, of Muncy, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at his home.
Born May 22, 1925 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Joseph and Barbara (Ripoli) Bennardi. On July 4, 1951, he married the former Mary Ellen Russell, with whom he has shared 59 years of marriage.
Rudolph was a 1943 graduate of Williamsport High School, a 1950 graduate of Penn State University and a 1954 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he was a member of the Psi Omega fraternity.
He began his dental career in Montgomery in 1954 and relocated to Muncy in 1960. Rudolph retired in 1993 after 39 years of practice. During that time, he was also on the medical staff of the Divine Providence, Williamsport and Muncy Valley hospitals.
He was a veteran of the US Navy and served honorably during World War II.
Rudolph was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Muncy.
An avid golfer, he was a member of the Williamsport Country Club. Rudolph was also a member of the ADA and the Montgomery Rotary Club.
He loved to travel, especially to Europe and Florida and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Diane Bennardi of Florida and Patrick and Dawn Bennardi of Muncy; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Anna Maria Falat of Williamsport, Theresa and Mark Tarquinio of Muncy, Cecelia Rogers of Muncy and Dr. Mary Colleen Bennardi and Dr. Thomas Barberio of Muncy; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Frank, Rudolph and Mario Bennardi, a sister, Mary Candelori and a granddaughter, Michelle Tarquinio.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on August 30 at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy. Officiating was his pastor, Rev. Glenn McCreary. Burial followed in the Muncy Cemetery.
Friends were received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. The rosary was recited at 5:45 p.m.
