Edythe L. Burkholder
Edythe L. Burkholder, 92, of Hughesville, died Sunday, August 22, 2010.
Born November 13, 1917, in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Nina B. Koch Dildine. Her husband of 31 years, Kenneth L. Burkholder, preceded her in death on April 17, 1979.
Edythe was a graduate of the Hughesville High School Class of 1935 and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hughesville. She was employed at the former GTE Sylvania, Emporium during World War II and post war through the early 1960’s at Hughesville Machine & Tool Company, which was operated by Clyde Kiess. Edythe retired in the early 1980’s from Motor Truck Equipment Company after having worked there for over 10 years.
She was an avid walker who also enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, sight seeing and above all, spending time with her family.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth W. (Jodie) Burkholder of Hughesville with whom she lived; a daughter, Nina D. (Terry) Rynearson of Hanover; and three grandchildren, Kenneth W. Burkholder Jr. of Pittsburgh, Clint P. Burkholder of Hughesville and Amanda K. Yiengst of Hanover.
In addition to her parents and husband, Edythe was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Dildine and two brothers, William and John Dildine.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
