Leonard E. Buck

Leonard E. Buck, 60, a resident of Stryker Avenue, Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in the Gatehouse following a six month battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Muncy Creek Twp., Lycoming County, PA, on Saturday, January 7, 1950, he was the son of the late Ross N. and Dorothy M. (Foust) Buck.

Len was the husband of Alverda M. (Deeter) Buck with whom he celebrated a 40th wedding anniversary on January 31, 2010.

He honorably served during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Mattaponi.

Len had last been employed by Keystone Filler and Manufacturing Co. at Muncy. He had previously been employed by the former Carey-McFall Corp. and Rochelle Furniture at Montgomery.

Len was a member of the New Covenant Assembly of God Church at Montgomery. He was a life member of Edward J. Smith V.F.W. Post 3428 at Muncy. Lenny enjoyed working on automobiles and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed helping others.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and her fiance, Tammy J. Buck and Rocky Brown, Watsontown; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis E. and Angela Buck, Watsontown; four grandchildren, Andrew Buck; Alicia Wilver; Kyle Buck; Keith Brown; one sister and brother-in-law, Dietra and Paul Rider, Montgomery; three brothers, Gary Buck, Melvin Buck and Jackie Buck, all of Montgomery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Barbara Jean Buck and two brothers, Gregory Buck and Ross Buck, Jr.

Funeral services were conducted from the New Covenant Assembly of God Church, 1270 Pinchtown Road, Montgomery on Monday, August 30 with Rev. James R. Pentz, his pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Twin Hills Memorial Park. Graveside military services were conducted by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. Arrangements were handled by the Galen R.
