Ruby M. Sheets

Ruby M. Sheets, 90, of Muncy Valley, died Monday, August 23, 2010, at the Muncy Valley Hospital.

Born April 22, 1920, in Elizabeth, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Zula Z. Holdren Golder.

Ruby was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed helping people when ever she could. She served on the election board for Shrewsbury Township for many years and had also served as Judge of Elections. Ruby loved cooking, baking, embroidery and flower gardening.

Surviving are two sons, Frank M. Spencer of New Columbia and Robert L. Spencer of Montgomery; a daughter, Suzann L. Laidacker of Muncy Valley; one step-son, Dale Spencer of Virginia; a step-daughter, Ann Brelsford of Muncy; a sister, Neva Barber of Jersey Shore; four grandchildren, Josh Laidacker, Jeremy Laidacker, Jacey Kennedy and Eric Spencer; and one great-grandson, Keagan Laidacker.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her first husband of 24 years, George Donald Spencer; her second husband of 39 years, Francis M. Sheets; a son, Stephen C. Spencer; two step-sons; one step-daughter; four brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
