Robert J. Kitner
Robert J. (Skippy) Kitner, Sr., 66, a resident of Montgomery, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 in the Gatehouse at Williamsport. Born in Williamsport, Lycoming County, PA, on Wednesday, September 29, 1943, he was the son of the late Merle and Josephine (Shutt) Kitner.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes “Augie” (James) Kitner on January 7, 2001.
He was a 1961 graduate of Montgomery High School and honorably served with the U.S. Army in Alaska for four years.
Skippy was a member of Bower-Decker American Legion Post 251 at Montgomery and the Edward J. Smith V.F.W. Post 3428 at Muncy.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Carla Kitner, Allenwood, PA; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Jack Dudek, Montgomery, PA; two grandchildren, Lacey Kitner; Scott Kitner; three sisters and two-brothers-in-law, Mary and Smokey Stover, Loganton, PA; Emmie Spicher, Duncannon, PA; Ann and Woody Hay, Carlisle, PA; one brother, Foster Kitner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Robert J. Kitner, Jr., in 1974 and his brother, Merle Kitner.
Friends called on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA. A graveside committal service will be conducted in the Green Lawn Memorial Park at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 16, 2010 with Rev. Henry E. Gable officiating. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans organizations.
