Pearl E. J. Irvine
Pearl E. J. (Lockyer) Irvine, 77, of Montgomery, died on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at her daughter’s residence, Montgomery.
Pearl was born on Sept. 30, 1933, in Worcester, England, and was the daughter of the late Cyril and Georgina (Dally) Lockyer. On May 10, 1951, she married the late Samuel Irvine Jr., who had died on Sept. 9, 1997.
Pearl was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Montgomery American Legion and enjoyed knitting, gardening, horses, video games and old movies. She was an avid bingo player.
Pearl is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Veronica Irvine of Watsontown; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra L. and Jerry Cleveland of Montgomery, Lori G. and Harris Staggert of Montgomery, Lisa A. Higham of Mansfield and Kristi L. Newton of Montgomery; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Kath Ahern and Joy Stanton, both of England. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth C. Irvine; one great-grandson, Tucker Knight; and four brothers.
There was a gathering of family and friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church, 41 W. Houston Ave., Montgomery, with the funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. Rebecca Cuddeback, CLM, Jersey Shore United Methodist Church, officiated the services. Burial was private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gatehouse at Divine Providence, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
Arrangements were handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton.
