Our beloved father and grandfather, Verus “Ervin” Boudeman, went home to the Lord on Feb. 18, 2011. He was 84 years old. Born Nov. 5, 1926, in Unityville, he was a son of the late Verus Edward and Lola Olive Boudeman.

He was married 52 years to the late Patricia Grace Boudeman.

He attended Hughesville High School and was a dairy farmer all his life, retiring in 1989.

Being a faithful member of the Salem UM Church in Unityville, he served as usher and was a member of the Auditing Committee. He also attended St. John’s Lutheran Church, Unityville.

Volunteering was always an important part of his life. He served as a 4-H Leader for Columbia County for 15 years. He helped with the Meals on Wheels Program, was a BTE Volunteer and helped with the American Red Cross Bloodmobiles.

His hobbies included gardening, woodworking and doing puzzles. He was an avid NASCAR fan, attending races in Dover, Delaware. He enjoyed watching his granddaughters play soccer and basketball. He also traveled extensively.

He was a tram driver at the Bloomsburg Fair for many years and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and Eastern Milk Producers.

He is survived by his three children, William and his wife, Kathy of Danville, Amy and Richard of Unityville; two granddaughters, Stephanie of St. Louis Park, Minn. and Lisa of Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was the last member of his immediate family, preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters: Kermit, Grace, Orton, Selma, Earl, Marcella, Rollie and Martha.

At the request of the deceased, burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Victory, P.O. Box 810, Millville, PA 17846.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville.
