Mary Joann Shnyder

Mary Joann Shnyder, 73, a resident of Montgomery, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Born in Clinton Twp., Lycoming County, PA, on Saturday, September 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Violet M. (Bartlett) Pentz.

She was the wife of Max H. Shnyder with whom she celebrated a 57th wedding anniversary on January 30, 2011.

Joann was employed as a day supervisor by the Genetti Lycoming Hotel at Williamsport, PA retiring in 2008.

She was a member of the St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church at Montgomery, PA. Joann was a great fan of her children’s and grandchildren’s sports activities. She enjoyed cooking, vacationing with her family and playing cards.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Shonny and David Walter, Millmont, PA; Machiel and Angelo Marino, Hollidaysburg, PA; Bobbie Repaci, Watsontown, PA; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Heather Shnyder, Montgomery, PA; two sisters, Brenda Joyce Lore, Fort Washington, MD; Barbara E. Pentz, Fort Washington, MD. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Joann was preceded in death by her son, Max H. Shnyder II, on July 25, 2005 and by seven siblings.

Funeral services were conducted from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA at 12:00 Noon on Friday, April 15, 2011 with Reverend Martha Sue Moll officiated. Interment was in the Elimsport Cemetery, Washington Twp., Lycoming County, PA. Friends called on Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
