Wilbur E. “Butch” Winder, 66, of 26 Kinsey St., Montgomery, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, at his home.

Born April 24, 1944, in Montgomery, he was a son of the late George M. Sr. and Mildred (Hill) Winder. On Feb. 5, 1966, he married the former Luella R. Wertman. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Butch was a 1962 graduate of Montgomery- Clinton High School and then worked with his father in the fuel oil business until 1975. He retired in 2006 from Bilo Supply in Montgomery where he worked at the sales counter and also as a substitute manager at other Bilo Supply locations.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran “Brick” Church, Montgomery. Butch was a life active member of the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Company, Montgomery, where he served actively for 50 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and collecting antique toy fire trucks.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Stephanie Winder and Todd and Rebecca Winder, all of Montgomery; two brothers and one sister-in -law, Richard “Snooks” and Jayneen Winder of Montgomery and Buddy Winder of South Williamsport; one sister and fiance, Norma “Sis” Winder and Randy Pfleegor of Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Shawnee Adamik, Nicholas, Matthew, Sarah, Emily, Amy and Gabriella Winder and four great-grandchildren, Garrett and Sydney Jones, Joseph Adamik and Shane Winder.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Rodney Winder in 1986; one brother, George Winder Jr. in 1963; and one sister, Barbara Winder in 1943.

Friends were received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 Main St., Watsontown. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Officiating was the church pastor, Rev. James H. Fladland. Burial followed in the Watsontown Cemetery.
