Eric D. Petts

Eric D. Petts, 29, of 112 N. Washington St., Muncy, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at his home.

Born May 18, 1981 in Williamsport, he was a son of Brian D. Petts of Williamsport and Jane K. (Ripka) Fink of Hatfield. On August 2, 2003 he married the former Heidi Lee Raymer. Together they celebrated 7 years of marriage.

Eric was a 1999 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. He was employed at Thermacare for 10 years.

Eric was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy.

In his spare time he coached girl’s soccer teams for both A.Y.S.O. and traveling team for 6 years.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and camping and was a member of the Consolidated Sportsmen of Lycoming County. He participated in the color guard at funeral detail with the American Legion, Post #1, Williamsport and donated blood often at the local Red Cross Blood drives.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are one daughter, Laura K. Petts of Muncy; one step daughter, Kaitlyn M. Vandine of Muncy; his father’s fiance, Gloria J. Thompson of Williamsport; his step father, Edward W. Fink of Hatfield; one step brother, Sean E. Ulrich of Berwick; one sister, Kimberly J. Fink of Duboistown; his paternal grandmother, Shirley H. Petts and his maternal grandmother, Celestine M. Ripka both of Duboistown; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas B. Sr. and Christine M. Raymer of Muncy and a special nephew, Lance E. Patterson of Muncy. Also surviving are numerous, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Robert G. Petts and his maternal grandfather, Elwood W. Ripka.

The funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be Pastor Cindi J. Gunter, minister of Duboistown United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. A continued time of fellowship and refreshments will be provided at the Duboistown United Methodist Church, 133 Summer St., Duboistown following the service.

Friends were received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the funeral home.
