Anne Wahl Forgacs, 82, of 322 W. Penn St., Muncy, died Sunday, June 5, 2011 at her home following a long illness.

Born on May 31, 1929 in State College she was the daughter of the late Dr. Herbert Alexander and Ethel (Shaeffer) Wahl. She graduated from State College High School and received a B.S. in Secondary Education from Pennsylvania State University in Business.

Anne worked for more than 15 years at the Muncy State Prison in various capacities but especially enjoyed her work supervising inmates as they landscaped and maintained the grounds at the facility.

She was an active member of the Women’s Club of Williamsport.

Anne was an avid and knowledgeable gardener. She enjoyed movies, music, and trips to the casinos in Atlantic City, watching football, especially Penn State and the Dallas Cowboys and playing bridge weekly during her retirement. She will be remembered for her kindness, eloquence and quick wit.

Surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert A. Jr. and Helen Wahl of Forksville and Richard and Ann Wahl of Shippensburg; four nephews and their spouses Dr. Gary and Nadine Wahl, Max and Elizabeth Wahl, Michael Wahl and Mark and Mary Wahl; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Anne was fortunate to have many devoted friends and neighbors including Denise and Paul Miller of Muncy and Patricia George of Montgomery. The family wishes to thank all those who visited her over the last few months; your support meant so much.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son David.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
