Bernice L. “Tooty” Bartlow, 87, of Muncy, died Wednesday, June 27, 2011, at her home.

She was born Nov. 20, 1923, in Picture Rocks, a daughter of the late Alvin H. and Mary E. George Clark. Her husband of 47 years, Sylvester P. Bartlow, preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1990.

Tooty was a member of Radiant Light Assembly of God Church, Muncy. She was employed at the former Modecraft, Muncy and at the former Rochelle Furniture Co., Montgomery for many years. Tooty loved crocheting, playing the organ, flower gardening, canning, sewing, spending time with her family and her Lord.

Surviving are a daughter, Judy L. (David) Shoemaker of Muncy; a son, Charles H. (Paula) Bartlow of Muncy; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Emma Sones of Muncy.

In addition to her husband and parents, Tooty was preceded in death by a son, William P. Bartlow; two sisters, Margaret C. Moore and Alberta Wertz; and two brothers, Calvin I. “Jack” Clark and Larue Clark.

Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. James R. Pentz officiating. Burial followed in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
