Born July 24, 1921, in Muncy Creek Township, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Grace Hagenbaugh Waltman. Her husband of 66 years, Carl W. Poust, preceded her in death on May 30, 2005.

Betty attended Muncy High School and retired from Sylvania in 1976 after having worked there for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Muncy and enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing cards and cooking.

Henrietta E. “Betty” Poust, 89, of Muncy, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at her daughter’s home.

Born July 24, 1921, in Muncy Creek Township, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Grace Hagenbaugh Waltman. Her husband of 66 years, Carl W. Poust, preceded her in death on May 30, 2005.

Betty attended Muncy High School and retired from Sylvania in 1976 after having worked there for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Muncy and enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing cards and cooking.

Surviving are two sons, Donald W. (Lela) Poust of Florida and Steven C. (Linda) Poust of Muncy; two daughters, Joanne (William) Smedley of Picture Rocks and Barbara (Donald) Mitcheltree of Muncy; a brother, Joseph Waltman of Muncy; two sisters, Jane Voneida of Hughesville and Dolly Winder of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilmer and George Waltman and a sister, Lois Holzworth.

Funeral services were noon Tuesday, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. David Culbertson officiating. Burial followed in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends called from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
