Brady H. Lowe
Brady H. Lowe, 81, of Muncy, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.
Born August 30, 1929, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Zaney H. and Eva P. Snyder Lowe. He and his wife, the former June Foust, would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 15, 2011.
Brady was a graduate of the Muncy High School, Class of 1947. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and retired in 1989 from the former Sprout Waldron’s after having worked there for over 25 years.
A member of the Moreland Baptist Church, Brady served as Deacon and Treasurer, taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. He was also involved with the District 10 Youth Fellowship for many years and a member of the Quarter Century Club. In his early years, Brady enjoyed running track, playing baseball and softball and hunting and fishing.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Ralph L. (Beverly) Lowe of Picture Rocks and Jon D. Lowe of Maryland; two daughters, Anita K. Watts of Florida and Joan M. Lowe of Muncy; two grandchildren, Frank (Amy) Shetler and Amanda (Tim Besermin) Homeier; two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Matthew Shetler.
In addition to his parents, Brady was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Leonard and Irene Montgomery.
Funeral services were held 7 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. William A. Harrel officiating. Burial was held in Moreland Baptist Church Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends called from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
