Jacqueline A. Artley

Jacqueline Alice Artley, 72, of Muncy Valley, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at her home.

Born Dec. 11, 1938, in Hughesville, she was a daughter of the late Donald H. and Thelma L. Livermore Hicks. She and her husband, James F. Artley, celebrated 48 years of marriage on June 8, 2011.

Jacqueline was a graduate of the Muncy High School, Class of 1956. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, reading and above all, spending time with her family.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three sons, Todd Artley, of Warnerville, N.Y., Jim (Rebecca) Artley, of Berwick and Donald (Lori) Artley, of Muncy; four daughters, Julie Artley, of Muncy, Teresa (Mike) Stackhouse, of Hughesville, Margaret (Matthew) Basile, of Bloomfield, N.J., and Dora (Frank) Bower, of Pennsdale; a brother, Donald Hicks Jr., of Beaver Falls; a sister, Betty Rhian, of South Williamsport; and 10 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jacqueline was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hicks.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Pastor John Otto officiating. Burial followed in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends called from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
