Holly E. Grimes
Holly E. Grimes, 62, of Hughesville died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 15, 1949, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Leslie B. and Ruth H. Trefsger Newton. She and her husband, Francis P. Grimes, would have celebrated 42 years of marriage on Dec. 27, 2011.
Holly was an active participant in Relay for Life and the Hughesville Spartan Band for many years. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays, baking, crafts and music. Holly also loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Charlene R. Schreck of Milton and Trisha L. (Christopher) Cain of Las Vegas, Nev.; three brothers, Quin (Liz) Newton of Sarasota, Fla., Randy (Linda) Newton of Watsontown and Bud Newton of Springfield, Mo.; three sisters, Jeanne (Dean) Quick of Murphy, N.C., Patricia (Jim) Crippen of Allentown and Isabel (Ron) Kocher of Watsontown; and two granddaughters, Kelsey A. and Megan R. Schreck.
In addition to her parents, Holly was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Bullock.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. Barbara J. Collins officiating. Burial followed in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends called from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
