Daniel James Palmeter, Sr.

Daniel James Palmeter, Sr., 59, of 107 N. Market St., Muncy, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at home.

Born Dec. 5, 1951 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Henry and Marjorie (VanVolkenburg) Palmeter. On Dec. 9, 1972, he married the former Susan M. Sementelli, who survives.

Dan was a 1970 graduate of Williamsport High School. He was currently employed by Fry’s Plastic in Pennsdale, and also delivered product for Keystone Bingo Supply and worked as a security guard at Muncy High School.

An active member of his community, he previously served on Muncy Boro Council and with the Muncy Youth Commission. He was a volunteer and past coach and manager for Muncy Little League and also served as an Assistant District Administrator for Little League Headquarters in South Williamsport. Dan also belonged to the Muncy Twp. Volunteer Fire Co. in Pennsdale.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 38 years are four sons, Daniel Jr. (Ann) Palmeter of Montoursville, Michael (Sheila) Palmeter, Andrew Palmeter of Hughesville, and Thomas Palmeter of Williamsport; one daughter, Suzan Palmeter of Muncy; one adopted son, Michael Pentz of New Columbia; three brothers, Denice Palmeter of Montoursville and Timothy and Henry Palmeter, both of Texas; two sisters, Mabel Flowers and Rosalie Bird, both of Texas; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Melody Palmeter.

Friends were received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral was held at 8 p.m. Officiating was Pastor Rob Ransom of Trinity United Methodist Church, Pennsdale.

The family provided the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Muncy Little League, c/o John Fry, Treasurer, 560 Rabbittown Road, Muncy, PA 17756.
