Shirley L. Shaner

Shirley L. Shaner, 74, of Hughesville, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at SUN Home Hospice Center, Sunbury.

Born March 24, 1937, in Hughesville, she was a daughter of the late Raymond C. and Esther M. Burkhart Gray.

Shirley was a member of the Williamsport Moose and the Muncy Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and shooting pool.

Surviving are two sons, Timothy S. (Donna Sejuit) Shaner and Theodore L. Shaner, both of Hughesville; a sister, Carlene Hess of Hughesville and a grandson, Shawn M. Shaner.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Donald and Charles Gray.

A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Max L. Walters Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. Friends called from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.
